Paralysis is a complete or partial loss of the ability to voluntary movements due to a violation of muscle innervation. A partial loss of this ability, leading to limited movement and a partial decrease in muscle strength, is called paresis.
Paralysis can affect various muscle groups. The whole body may be paralyzed, some arm or leg, part of the facial muscles, a finger.
Paralysis can be caused by hypothermia and dampness, squeezing or pinching of a nerve due to a tight bandage, fracture or displacement of bones, tumor pressure, or disruption of connections in the body with lesions of the central nervous system.
Parkinson’s paralysis is a chronic condition. The first signs of it appear in most patients after 50 years. There are many reasons for the development of the disease, but the most likely are atherosclerosis, intoxication (drug, alcoholic, nicotine), past encephalitis, traumatic brain injury, mental trauma, endocrine disorders, brain tumors.
Paralysis symptoms: Violation of gait, muscle tone, the appearance of stiffness of movements, arrhythmias, tremors, salivation. Speech becomes monotonous, low-expressive, quiet. In some patients, propulsion is observed: slow movement is suddenly replaced by a fast run, which ends in a fall.
The paralysis progresses. The shaking of the hands is more pronounced at rest and decreases or completely stops in movement and during sleep.
