Severe itching of the skin.
A characteristic feature of neurodermatitis is severe skin itching, which at times becomes simply unbearable.
The face (cheeks, forehead, skin of the eyelids and around the lips), neck, hips, buttocks, elbows and knees, etc., may itch, but most often neurodermatitis occurs on the hands.
After some time the skin becomes red, covered with spots and rashes, small pimples, and in the affected areas there is a characteristic skin pattern.
Patients suffering from chronic neurodermatitis, the skin is very dry, flaky, it thickens and covered with rough folds, crusts.
In addition to the dermal manifestations of neurodermatitis, patients feel fatigue, weakness, suffering low blood glucose levels and hypotension.
The constant itching disturbs their sleep, drives them into depression and severe irritability, leading to neurosis. With a long course of the disease, the adrenal glands become disrupted, lymph nodes become inflamed, and the normal function of many internal organs suffers.
